From the darkest age of Camelot to the destructive wastelands of Chaos, we have laid ruin to everything and everyone who stood in our warpath.

Our violent strength comes from our ambition to cause havoc to the enemy. We are the first into battle and thirst for glory.

Not just anyone can be a part of this Tormented army, you must be loyal and prepared to take on challenges beyond the pitiful masses. You must kill at a higher level...or be killed.

Will you be one of the dead or one of the Chosen?

GUILD REQUIREMENTS:
  1. RoT is a RvR based guild, members are expected to participate in guild RvR activities.  It is expected that:
    1. Members will, upon request, leave non-guild groups after reasonable notice to their current group and participate with the guild
    2. Group leaders will make every effort to include guild members over non-guild members subject to discretion with regard to needed classes
    3. In general, 8-11 PM ET are considered RvR “primetime.”  It is expected that occasionally the guild will run a raid or quest during these times.  Members should be aware of this and try not to run private raids during primetime.
  2. RoT uses Ventrilo (ventrilo.com) members are expected to have ventrilo.  You do not have to talk but must be able to listen.
  3. RoT expects all members to respect each other.  That being said
    1. Guild chat and ventrilo are not “G” or “PG” rated
    2. Many RoT members have been playing together for a while and a certain degree of good natured joking and sarcasm can be expected
  4. Certain members have developed craft/trade skills and offer their services to guild members.  It takes significant time and effort to level up these skills, RoT does not expect its crafters to work for free.  RoT expects members to offer reasonable compensation.
  5. Guild members are expected to assist other guild members.  That being said:  RoT does not offer guild PLs.  Assistance with leveling is an individual member choice.

Nov. 22nd Altdorf Seige
Vanctran, Nov 14, 08 10:51 AM

Reign of Torment will be participating in the Nov. 22nd seige on Altdorf. We welcome any guilds who wish to join us. We will most likely be helping in a T4 zone that needs the most help or has the least Destro players to even things up (evil face). Order is about to get kicked in the jibblies.

WAAAGH!

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
Server: Monolith
Realm: Destruction

I am employed as the Events Coordinator for a company called iGames (www.igames.org/war) that organizes promotional activities for gamers that play at LAN centers. Our promotions are supported by EA / Mythic Entertainment. You may have seen news on the Herald about some of the things we’ve been doing.

On Saturday, November 22nd, starting at 3:00 PM Eastern Time, we getting together as many LAN center gamers as we can to launch assaults in both Tier 3 and Tier 4 on the Monolith server.

I would like to invite your guild to join the effort by launching an assault of your own at the exact same time. What I am proposing is a classic ‘Zerging’ strategy whereby we will hope to overwhelm the enemy force with sheer numbers. I will be the first to admit that a ‘Zerging’ is not necessarily the most effective means of attacking; however it is among the simplest. Inevitably every guild will have its own opinions on how to attack, when to attack, and how to organize all of this, and without any authority there is nothing to stop anyone from breaking off and doing their own thing. Each guild has its own unique structure and style. Therefore, I propose that each guild (or guild alliance if you are apart of one) be in charge of its own attack and operate independently on the battlefield.

I do think it would be worthwhile for each guild to have one member join onto a single Ventrilo server so that we can relay basic information and stay coordinated in the effort. If your guild has a very big Ventrilo server you’d be willing to offer for use then please reply with the connect information.

With the way that Warhammer Online zone control works (http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=430) it is possible that we will reach a point that the force cannot advance any further towards the enemy city of Altdorf because we won’t have enough Victory Points, even though we may control all the Keeps and Battlefield Objectives. To maximize our chance of success, I would like to suggest that we not all queue up for the Scenarios. Rather, only groups of six that are extremely good at particular Scenarios should queue for them for the particular zones we are working on capturing.

I would like to ask that anyone that wants to participate in this effort do so just for the fun of it and without any expectation to succeed in reaching or capturing Altdorf. I am sure that our execution won’t be flawless and that players will make mistakes. We are not guaranteed to advance and this is a first (that I know of) effort of this scale for the Monolith server. If we do not succeed, we can try again at a later date with a new approach. I would hate for the end result to involve any guilds or players arguing or blaming each other.
